THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER'S EDITORIAL POLICY:VOL5~NO11
THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER'S EDITORIAL POLICY: A RESTATEMENT:::::::::::::::::: The mainstream press and off-steam press over the past many months have found themselves in some difficulty - inaccurate stories, allegations of bias, plagiarism, fake documents and more. The news has become the news. In this climate and as the THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER continues in its fifth year, the Editorial Board of THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER thinks it wise to restate this publication's editorial policy. It is simple. THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER labels items in general in one of three ways: (1)a traditional editorial; (2) commentary; (3) opinion. Editorials are reserved for key topics and are not contained in every edition. Commentary is intended to present analysis as objective and accurate as possible. The publication's staff is not large, but it does strive to make all commentary insightful and, most importantly, helpful to the reader in making her or his own decisions on issues of the day. Opinion is wide-ranging - the publication covers all types of issues and areas (social issues, politics, people, personalities, movies, TV, entertainment and more) and is often irreverent, particularly in the AQUIDNECK QUICKIES. THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER does not leave anyone unscathed and uses humor as necessary while, at the same time, not adhering to any code of political correctness. The publication's statements of opinion are intended to be catalysts for thought among the readers - some may like some of what is printed, some may hate some of what is printed; it is likely that no one will like or agree with everything that is contained in THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER. The LINKS to other websites are changed and added as necessary - they are meant to provide some different sources of information and the inclusion of a LINK does not mean that this publication agrees with the statements or content of the LINK. Ads are placed at random by Google and, as stated below, THE AQUIDNECK NQUIRER does not necessary agree with the content or sponsors of the ads. The Board hopes that readers will continue to read this publication and will send the site to others. As always, THE AQUIDNECK INQUIRER welcomes criticism, articles, comments and questions from readers - without readers there would be no publication. Thanks and best regards. THE EDITORIAL BOARD (5.28.05).
