Enough facts and details will be printed about Ferrah (the "e" was later changed to an "a" and her mother apparently picked the name because it went well with her last name)  Leni Fawcett, born on February 2, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas, who passed today. 

We would rather consider the young woman who broke out in 1975 on a new series - "Charlie's Angels". 

She was a cop turned detective with her two female partners, and, nothwithstandng her singular looks (she was English, French and Choctaw Native American), played a tough brave character who was always on the right side of the law.

Along with her co-stars Kate Jackson, Jacqueline Smith, David Doyle and the unseen John Forsythe, she became a star and left the show after just one season.  

Ms. Fawcett's  later roles and personal life evidenced courage and intelligence. After her divorce from Lee Majors, she began a life long relationship - often difficult - with Ryan O'Neal. And Ms. Fawcett and Mr. O'Neal had a son. It is reported that Mr. O'Neal had only a few days ago asked Ms. Fawcett to marry him - and that she had accepted the proposal.

It is easy for many to discount Ms. Fawcett - her looks helped and hurt her. 

But, we think of her as that competent, courageous and, yes, pretty, woman who always went forward.

Today, she lost a long battle with cancer. 

We extend our sympathy to her family and friends.
